Since 1970 our house has been one of the most popular places for those who look for an accommodation in Obertauern. The 28- bed&breakfast accommodation Montana was run by Inge and Franz Pöllitzer who looked after their guests with loving care. That was also the time when Obertauern slowly developed into one of the leading winter sport resorts of Austria. Cable railways were built and slopes and special infrastructure for tourists were created.
In 1977 when the existent family hotel Montana was built it was opened with 50 beds and ten employees. Five years later the capacity of the extremely popular accommodation was extended to 70 beds. After that there were several more extensions: an underground parking area and a spa and recreation area were provided for the guests and in addition to that special facilities were created to guarantee a barrier-free holiday for people with special needs. Apartments, a winter garden, further rooms and studios were added and constantly modernized. Today our family hotel has got 107 bed and 23 employees take care of our guests so that they can enjoy their skiing holiday to the full.
Accessible skiing holidays for all in the family hotel Montana – welcome!
Today, the hotel is run by Inge Pöllitzer, the daughter of Inge and Franz Pöllitzer. She prides herself on making her guests’ holiday at the Montana as enjoyable as possible. This includes providing access facilities for guests with disabilities. To maintain the friendly character of the hotel and personal service to our guests, no further expansion of the hotel is planned.
